Callie set up Moonpoppy Enterprises after years of commuting into the City. She has been involved in administration and senior-level PA work since attending a private secretarial college in East Sussex in the mid-1980's. Her first secretarial position was at a small engineering firm, a UK base for Stranco (now part of Siemens). After a period of time she become a stay-at-home-mum until her son started school, when she returned to full-time education at college and university. University heralded a change in business focus for her, where she developed an interest in Human Resource management and training. Eventually she studied for her CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development) qualifications whilst working in a Brighton-based public sector HR Department, where she focused primarily on induction and training, Investors in People standards, competency training, recruitment and retention, workforce planning and merger documentation. At the same time Callie held a unique position as volunteer union Education & Training Officer with UNISON, in addition to sitting on a number of national working groups and committees.
In 2001, domestic circumstances saw her family moving to London where she (quite literally) fell into a role as legal secretary. From this initial role, changes in company structure saw her moving to other Intellectual Property law firms including Mintz Levin (a large US law firm) where she worked as paralegal and team leader, gathering knowledge and skills at a rapid pace. Callie also has a wealth of experience of working with complementary therapists and networking, being a qualified therapist herself.
Her experience in preparing management and committee reports, issuing contracts, developing induction and training programmes, setting up new offices, working with senior management, training new staff and development work with specialist program developers and management teams - plus more! - means that Callie is adept at tackling the most difficult of issues which is an essential Virtual Assistant skill, being a natural "troubleshooter".
Callie works closely with individuals and SME's (small-medium enterprises), providing specialist skills and professionalism and helping them to focus on their e-presence and offering a "virtual hand" - a variety of administrative and secretarial skills to help them deal with challenges in business. She is also assisted by other experienced Virtual Assistants whenever the need arises.
Her experience and knowledge as a qualified holistic massage therapist and healer means that she is able to offer specialist support to complementary therapists and alternative medicine practitioners, also running business-related workshops for therapists.
